“Leveraging technologies for affordable and accessible healthcare”

Abstract:

Increasing access to affordable healthcare is one of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. However, the standard ways of product development will not be sufficient to reach these goals by 2030. The speakers draw upon experiences from their own career as well as academic research to showcase alternative hands-on approaches to leverage the benefits of technology enabled innovation within a constraint-based setting.

About the Speakers:

Anirudha Dambal is the Global VP & head of Women’s Health at Siemens Healthineers and the CEO of MeVis Breast Care GmbH, a joint venture between Siemens Healthineers and Mevis Medical Solutions. He also serves on the Supervisory board of ScreenPoint Medical, a company which develops AI based medical products for cancer care. Anirudha has strong cross-functional expertise across general management, strategy, M&A, product & innovation management, and sales operations globally. He is passionate about leveraging technology to make healthcare accessible and affordable.

Dr. Nivedita Agarwal is a Research Fellow at Institute of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Science, University of Stuttgart, Germany. Additionally she is also the program manager for Technology and Innovation Management at SIemens Healthineers AG. Previously, she worked as an Assistant Professor at the Chair of Technology Management at Friedrich-Alexander-Universitat Erlangen-Nurnberg, Germany. Her research is focused on new product development strategies, social entrepreneurship and frugal innovation.
