Research Interests:
Primary research interest is confined to Industrial Economics covering the wide spectrum of industry: start-ups, micro firms, SMEs, large scale enterprises including TNCs, their structure and growth, industrial R&D and technological innovations, entrepreneurship, industrial energy consumption pattern and efficiency, industrial subcontracting, productivity and industrial performance.

- Fulbright-Nehru Senior Research Fellowship (2009/10): J F Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, Washington D C awarded the Fellowship through United States-India Educational Foundation (USIEF), New Delhi, India for eight months from September 2009 to April 2010.
- Japan Foundation Fellowship (2004): Japan Foundation, Tokyo awarded Japan Foundation Fellowship for 2004/2005 for one year: Visiting Research Fellow at the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS), Tokyo, Japan during March 2005 – February 2006.
- Commonwealth Fellowship (1999): Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom awarded Commonwealth Fellowship in 1999/2000 for six months: Visiting Research Fellow at the Foundation for Small & Medium Enterprise Development, University of Durham, United Kingdom during February-July 2000.
