Abstract:
Cinema is among the most powerful storytelling mediums for generating emotional engagement. Yet, which emotions do audiences most commonly experience, and how are these responses shaped? This talk explores theories and empirical research on the ways filmmakers construct narratives to evoke emotional reactions. It concludes with an open discussion and Q&A.
Brief Bio:
Professor Jaime López is a film scholar at Complutense University of Madrid, specializing in cognitive perspectives and world cinema. In addition to his academic role, he brings over 25 years of experience as a journalist across television, print media, and communication services.
