- From Main building / JRD Tata main library:
Take the ‘Mahogany Marg’ road in front of the JRD Tata memorial library, turn left at the end of the road. Proceed straight and turn right upon reaching the ‘Silver oak marg’ road, next to Inorganic and physical chemistry (IPC) department. Go down straight and turn again on the first right. This road (Badam Marg road) will lead you to the subway*. Go through the subway and on reaching the end turn left. Follow the winding path and turn left at the end to reach the Management Studies department.
*In case one is coming by foot, on reaching the subway, take the walkway besides it. This walkway will exit in front of Management studies department, located on the left side.- From Maramma Circle Gate:
After entering, turn left in front of ‘Society for innovation and development’. Follow this spiraling path passing through CISTUP, FMC to reach the end. Then turn left to reach the Management studies department.- From the Gate on CV Raman Avenue (next to High voltage Engineering dept):
- Enter and turn right. This path will lead straight to Management studies department.
- Landmarks close to the department: Satish Dawan Auditorium ,Subway,Entrepreneurship center,Tea board,Prakruti restaurant.
Reaching IISc :
Reaching IISc from the Bangalore international Airport:
IISc is about 35 kilometer (22 miles) from the airport (both domestic and international). Prepaid taxi service is available from the airport. The fare to IISc would be approximately INR 600. Shuttle bus services are available from the airport. The A/C bus fare is around INR 100. The more economical non A/C buses are also available. You can take buses to either Mekhri Circle or Malleshwaram. IISc is around 2 kilometer from these bus stops and you may take an auto to reach IISc. The fare for the auto would be around INR 20. Alternatively, you can take bus #11 from the airport that directly passes by IISc.
Reaching IISc from the Main Railway Station/ Bus stand:
The main railway station in Bangalore is called Bangalore City which is about 7 km from IISc. The railway station and the main bus stand (called as Majestic and Kempegowda Bus station) are opposite to each other. Pre-paid autorickshaw facility is available at the Bangalore City Railway Station. You could tell the counterperson that you are travelling to Tata Institute. A trip to IISc may cost about Rs. 55. Travel by autorickshaws between 10:00 p.m. and 06:00 a.m. will cost 50% more. You can also use the bus services from the Majestic bus station: Bus Route nos. 252 E, 258 C, 271 E, 273 C, 275, 276, 99 A and B . Alight at TATA INSTITUTE Bus Stop
Reaching IISc from the Cantonment Railway Station:
Another important railway station in Bangalore is Cantonment Railway Station, also known as Bangalore Cantt. The distance from this station to IISc is almost same as the Bangalore City railway station and it also has prepaid autorickshaw facility. You can also use the bus services from the bus stop just opposite to the station. Route Nos. 94 A and E, 252 A, 270 A, 272, 276 A.
Reaching IISc from the Yeshwantpur Railway Station:
Yeshwantpur is a small railway station, located within Bangalore, but it is NOT the main railway station of Bangalore. One good thing about Yeshwantpur is that it is very close to IISc, but very few trains stop here. The autorickshaw ride from Yeshwantpur to IISc will cost around Rs. 25. No prepaid autorickshaw facility available here
