Title: “Large Language Models – Quo vadis?”
Abstract:
Large Language Models (LLMs) have reshaped Natural Language Processing (NLP) and transformed the way we work today. Since the introduction of ChatGPT in November 2022, LLMs and GenAI have sparked an unprecedented investment in data centers and turned amid-sized chip manufacturer, mainly known for gaming hardware, into the most valuable company of the world. The seminar gives an overview of major milestones in the development of LLMs, takes a closer look at the inner workings and complexity of these models, and outlines some of the recent trends such as mixture of experts, hybrid symbolic/sub-symbolic methods, and agentic AI. The session concludes with a discussion on the profound impact these models are having on the ICT industry
Brief Bio:
Dr. Roland Haas is a serial entrepreneur, researcher, mentor for startups, and book author. He has 30 years of professional experience in senior techno-managerial, business innovation and business development assignments in Europe, US and Asia. Roland Haas has a broad experience in Automotive R&D, Aerospace R&D, Engineering & IT services, Consulting and Strategy. He is the Co-founder & CEO of ARAI Solutions, a deep tech startup in AI, and an Adjunct Professor at the International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT-B). His teaching and research spans a wide area of topics including Artificial IntelIigence, Data Science, Cyber-Physical Systems, Cyber Security, Automotive Software Technologies, and Information Management.
