Abstract
This seminar highlight's the critical role of technology and product development in driving innovation, drawing on HALs pioneering R&D journey and landmark programmes such as LCA Tejas, ALH Dhruv, and IJT. It shares key technological challenges, breakthroughs, and lessons from over five decades of experience in aeronautical R&D. The session concludes with insights from the authors recently launched book, emphasizing technology-led development as the pathway to achieving Viksit Bharat 2047

Mr. Yogesh Kumar
Former Director (LCA),Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL); Honorary Adviser, CSIR-NAL
Yogesh Kumar is a distinguished aerospace technologist and alumnus of Punjab Engineering College and IIT Madras. During his career at Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), he led several major aerospace programmes, including Indias Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas. A recipient of numerous national and international awards, he is also the author of books on project and technology management and currently serves as Honorary Adviser, Senior Consultant, and Specialist Designer at CSIR–National Aerospace Laboratories (CSIR-NAL)
